You guys have read tons of my Style United posts over the past year: I love them and (I like to think!) they love me, so when they asked me to host a Style United by P&G Viewing Party for tonight’s People’s Choice Awards, I was all in, immediately.
I have a soft spot for the People’s Choice Awards. Not only did I attend last year with one of my amazing readers (shout out to Reagan M.! Hugs!) but the PCAs are always one of the most fun awards shows, plus one of the few that brings together stars from all the top categories: music, movies and TV.
The show airs tonight and I’m already gleefully anticipating what type of red carpet trends we’ll see. I’m a little biased, but I’m betting the number one beauty trend will be BANGS! (On a personal note, do you want to know something funny about my new bangs? I get the impression that none of my girlfriends are over-the-moon about them, although they’re all quite polite and make the necessary “Yeah! They look good!” noises. But, between you and me: guys love them. I haven’t had this much male attention when out in public since my red hair brought out all the Ginger-Obsessed creepers.)
Another beauty trend I bet we’ll be seeing: smokey eyes. (Am I predicting here, or just telling you what kind of beauty trends I like?)
For fashion, emerald is the Pantone color of the season, so…emerald dresses? Maybe? I can’t even pretend to be an expert on this front. Lazy ol’ moi only really started wearing heels 6 months ago.
Throughout red carpet season, StyleUnited by P&G Beauty will be showing women how they can turn red carpet looks into real world style from head-to-toe, hence tonight’s PCAs viewing party. (P&G Beauty and the People’s Choice Awards go way back!) My friends and I will be watching the red carpet, voting on our favorite looks, and tweeting throughout the show. P&G also sent goodie bags, so my guests will be getting a few of my favorite P&G products, including the Olay + Venus Razor (one of the few beauty products I actually buy and spend my own money on, since these razors are just so damn good), Puffs Soft & Strong facial tissues (no tears, ladies, please) and the Pantene Age Defy Collection (away with you breakage, frizz and color-fade!) Meanwhile, SpaFinder has graciously provided a $100 gift card to whichever of my guests has the best style prediction!
P&G Beauty will also be tweeting, so be sure to check them out at @PGBeauty and use the hashtag #PGRedCarpet to make your own style predictions!
