Last night, Lacoste invited me to the Costume Designers Guild Awards, which is basically the Oscars of fashion. Not only was it inherently glamorous–held in the Grand Ballroom at the Beverly Hilton, which is where the Golden Globes take place–and filled to the brim with celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Amy Poehler, Joel McHale, Russell Crowe, Jon Hamm, Shirley MacLaine and Cat Deeley, but I myself felt like a million bucks because I was wearing a golden Badgley Mischka dress from Rent the Runway.
I’d never used Rent the Runway before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after receiving a $150 gift card last week (thanks to CoverGirl and Herbal Essences!) I decided that the black tie Costume Designers Guild Awards would be the perfect occasion.
Choosing your dress on Rent the Runway is super easy: users upload photos and descriptions of their previous experiences with the dresses, including their size, weight, height and bust, so you can get a sense of what certain sizes will work on you. Plus, you get two sizes for the price of one, so you’ll have two dresses to choose between. Finally, if for whatever reason neither dress they send fits you, as long as you return the dresses unworn within 24 hours, you’ll get a full refund. They even send you pre-addressed bags to slide the dresses right into when you’re done, to make returning a breeze. I could not have been more satisfied with my experience!
Here’s a full shot of the Badgley Mischka dress I wore. Pretty, no?
I felt especially on trend, seeing as Cat Deeley and Anne Hathaway (who looked really gorgeous in person) wore gold dresses, too.
Can’t wait to see all the red carpet looks this Sunday for the Oscars! I’m predicting lots of Old Hollywood glamour, including long, flowing waves.
