Since I was 12 years old, I’ve been a massive, can’t-get-enough, they-have-defined-my-life Pearl Jam fan. Naturally, when E. proposed to me in Paris last week, it made perfect sense to incorporate my favorite band into the proposal. (Bravo, baby!)
It might seem like a weird hypocrisy, considering that I’m so public here on my blog, but I’m occasionally private about random things. As a result, I’m equally thrilled that I have the engagement on video (no, seriously, thrilled) and happy that the only audio you can hear is the sound of the French musicians playing “Yellow Ledbetter”–so that E.’s actual proposal does, indeed, remain private.
What cracks me up about my reaction during the video are my solemn nods as he spoke. In fact, I had to be reminded of what he said after the proposal; I was in such a daze that not only did I barely remember it immediately afterward, but I didn’t even notice that Melanie was still there until E. pointed out the camera!
